Long, long ago, this was the first ‘serious’ VN I ever tried to write. Choices that aren’t just about romance, fourteen endings, 50+ CGs… the first time I was seriously trying to hire an artist to work on a new game, since before that I’d had no money and had to scribble things myself.

On top of that it was basically the first of its kind in being a hybrid between a puzzle-solving adventure game and a fully-branching visual novel. This was years before 999 would be released (as an odd coincidence, not only were both games pioneers in VN/adventure, but we also both featured people wearing gas masks and robes to hide their identity!)

Well, anyone can probably tell you this might be a bit much to take on for a newbie. Luckily, it wasn’t my first game, and I did complete it, but the artists I tried to hire were completely overwhelmed by the amount of work necessary, so it all ended up being done piecemeal by many different people, resulting in a kind-of-uneven look.

Since it wasn’t written in RenPy and used too many different weird functions for puzzles to port it over easily, for years it was the only game on my site that was Windows-only. And then the installer started having trouble on modern windows, and I eventually pushed the game out of sight entirely because it was old and hard to give tech support for.

I am now making the game available for free on itch.io

If you play and enjoy the game, please tip a couple bucks, which will also get you the strategy guide to help solve or skip the puzzles. If you hate it, please don’t tell me, it’s ten years old and I’ve moved on a long way since then. :)
